3rd person view-Returning Pain(story)
Charmaine, was restless in bed once again. Her short scruffy black hair falling into a jumple around her face. Her fingers, clawing onto her soft velvet sky blue pillow. Charmaine's teeth were gritting and her tanned skin, tense. Her eyes were straining, squinting.
Then, her movement ceased.
Her body loosened. Her eyes, relaxed and opened quickly.
"Crap! I'm going to be late!" were the first words she spluttered out of her mouth.
It had been 3 years since the death of her parents. Her life changed but so did she. She refined a physical fighting abilities after finding it impossible to control any form of magic or abilities. Charmaine became a more short-tempered, blunt and protective person, forming a barrier from sensitive emotion and only released anger when she could.
Charmaine dressed quickly into a bright yellow t-shirt and brown pants that reached down to her knees. Her olive eyes blinked at her reflection in the mirror. She really did change. She was much more 'boyish' now. However, her habit of waking up late never changed.
Being royalty and after her parents death, she was allowed to attend school, it was all up to her. Charmaine agreed, finding it real boring staying in the palace all day being homeschooled. The palace was no longer considered a 'palace' as it once was. The true royal palace had been transferred to King Irage's home, in another part of the kingdom. Coral and Charmaine were never invited there.
Charmaine rushed down the stairs. Beaming. It was the end of school. And it was the beggining of vacation. "Nothing to worry about," she beamed.
"Char, I think you better hurry a bit. We might be late for strawberry picking. Theres a time limit you know!" Coral's shouted across the rooms.
"Coming! Coming!"
Charmaine stumbled but managed to reach Coral who was already at the door, safetly.
Charmaine looked at her older sister, the one she admired most. After the death of their parents, Coral had really been a mother to her. Eventhough, Coral still was home schooled and taught a bit of the art of magic. Coral was ravishing. Her wavy blonde hair tied up in a ponytail, glistening in the sun. Her oceanblue eyes, turning to face Charmaine, like seeing the truth in the depth of peoples souls.
Coral had definitely matured since the incident and by that means, also grown. Her figure was more slender now and her baby blue blouse and jeans absolutely suited her. Coral laughed, seeing her little sister staring up at her.
"Time to go!" she said, smiling.
"Pfft... your mocking me again," Charmaine whined.
"How so?"
"I can tell by the way you look at me."
Both of them silently crossed the village streets. They were dressed like average villagers so that no one saw them.
However, villagers faces still held fear. The kingdom was going into ruins. It was currently in war with its own people. And the villagers often feared the power of King Irage. Irage was merciless. Only needing the requirement of power.
And the spies he had, held special abilities of their own and would be used now and again for their own evil deeds.
Coral and Charmaine lived past that now. Pretending to ignore what was happening around them.
But as they say, you can never hide from the truth.
As they wandered through the forest, they heard a shrill scream.
It pained their ears.
Charmaine dropped to the ground covering her ears from the screech.
"What the hell was that?!" she screamed.
Coral looked around hastily and she stood herself in a fighting position.
'My sister's magic is still weak,' Charmaine urgently thought after seeing Coral in a number of her practises. "I can't let her fight."
The screeching was louder now and closer. What was causing the noise, was obviously nearing them.
From the tall trees, a banshee emerged, screaming at the top of her lungs, whilst dressed in a white gown.
"Don't use your magic, Coral! It weakens you too much!" Charmaine cried, pushing Coral away from the banshee. Then, instead of Coral being caught in the banshee's hands, Charmaine was flying in mid air, in the banshees grasp. The banshee's hungry eyes filled with blood and its tongue craved for human flesh.
Since she was being held up by her hands, Charmaine used her reflexes and swung her body in a full circle and landed right on top of the banshee's back. The banshee struggled against Charmaine, who was sitting on its back and punching its back. The banshee began dangerously descending.
Coral was staring up at her from the ground. Stunned.
"Oh crap! I didn't think of how I would get down!" Charmaine screamed in her head.
Then a black shadow swooped down from the trees. Charmaine felt strong hands grasp her waist and pulled her off the banshee in a blink of an eye.
In the next moment, she was on the ground. Standing safetly. Surprised at first, Charmaine started stomping on the ground to test whether she was day dreaming.
A warm hand touched her shoulder and she jerked upright, startled.
It was Coral, touching her warmly but facing forward, looking at something.
Charmaine looked forward. A boy was there, a red head with red eyes. Dressed in a farmers attire but clearly hiding something in his clothes behind his back.
Suddenly, memories raked back against her brain. Charmaine fell back to the ground screaming and writhing in pain.
She couldn't hear anything, couldn't taste anything, couldn't see anything but only felt pain.
"Ryan..." murmurred Coral as she looked at the boy who stood in front of her.
He hadn't changed much. He still had eyes that looked at her tenderly like she was the only thing he cared for in the world.
"Coral..." he murmurred back. His eyes, revealing everything.
Then, her movement ceased.
